Artwork ideas

Brief for artwork

The brief for the album artwork which I gave to Ross:

Stimulus is The Courtesan painting by Van Gogh.

Bright, colourful and intricate.

Highlight the influence of Japanese culture on western culture.

Music will be mainly percussion based.

Take influences from my painting of The Courtesan (shown).

Happy New Year!

It's time to kick start with my music project! Finally got my keyboard so I am currently adding little ostinatos to some of my previous ideas and I have also given my digital art designer, Ross Pollock a brief for the album artwork.

Keep a look out for my new ideas and the artwork!

Ok, so today I came up with a simple bass loop to go along with the bongo rhythm I put up last week. It's all very basic and messy at the mo but it will all come together to create a fun album!

Check out my bandcamp website to hear it:http://drumchick.bandcamp.com

Going to be adventurous today and try to write a bass line for the bongo idea...if it works I will upload it later! here goes!

Bongo drum ideas for track No.2!

Today I came up with a few ideas for the next song on the bongo drums. This song will convey the difficulties the Geisha must overcome. The higher section at 00:00:41 creates a sense of tension and anxiety to be resolved in the next section.

First track uploaded

Today I experimented with some more rhythms on the drumkit, bongos and cowbell. You can check it out on my bandcamp website: http://drumchick.bandcamp.com/
